In Their Own Words: Horace Mann is a co-educational college preparatory day school enrolling students in Nursery through Twelfth Grade. Among the top independent day schools in the country, Horace Mann is best known for a superb academic program that draws talented young people from three states and as far away as 50 miles. HM's main campus, home to the Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions, is located on 18 acres in Riverdale. The Nursery Division is housed in a six-story landmark carriage house with a backyard playground and a roof top play area on East 90th Street in Manhattan. The early childhood program, serving 150 children, 3-6 years of age, became part of Horace Mann School in 1968 when the New York School for Nursery Years merged with HM. The Division carries a rich history in progressive education and a commitment to the strong academic traditions and excellence in teaching associated with HM.
My son went to Horace Mann Nursery School. We loved the teachers, the community and the overall education.
